25% of my life

I’ve noticed quite a few anniversaries and birthdays lately. Not sure what it is about May. Anyway, it made me think about how long I’ve been publishing this blog. It’s been over 6 years. And here’s the scarier part:

I’ve published this blog for nearly 25% of my life.

That’s strange, and a little scary, and a little depressing.

This is my first blog post so pardon my ignorance of blog etiquette. I’ve been a computer user since the late ’70s though. OK, I guess blogs can be real information posted by knowledgeable, intelligent authors, right? Also entertainment by brilliant or stupid people with I.Q’s close to G. W. Bush’s. Satire, humor, fun, rage defusing (ranting?), real communication knowledge sharing? Do I understand blogging? Anyway, ..…

How about a short (?) lesson from a retired educator with multiple degrees in the scientific area? I know a little about human physiology, psychology, etc. For the “stupid” of you that are just ranting, yet intelligent and truly want to learn and understand; especially what makes Rosie tick, Why does she tick you off, and to further make pun of you parasitic tick-like guys who may themselves have tics due to having tourette syndrome. You, who may be really “crippled” or handicapped individuals too embarrassed to get a life because stupid prejudiced individuals like many of you can scare, frighten, and literally cause embarrassment easily due to sensory overload. Do any of you “get a life” people have Tourette’s, or are all of you into ranting or rode (or other) rage types?

I am really responding to the REAL IDIOTS who don’t get what Rosie is, or about. Rosie’s real I.Q. may be twice our president’s which is really sad, and may be a real time fact. (A famous Neuro-Psychiatric Pharmacologist I know has diagnosed Bush as something much worse to have. The Doc is a lot like Rosie. He has a 185 I.Q. but many don’t understand his brilliance. He has AD/HD (hereditary for the stupid of you), and treats many epileptics with TLE (temporal lobe epilepsy). He has multi-published, has three patents, and kind of strange. He curses at patients, has no bedside manner, yet patient’s from all over the country come to him. He’s a democrat (not your usual money grubbing Dr.) and has serendipity discovered a cure for PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder).

Perhaps a further lesson about brilliant people like Rosie? The Doc has diagnosed Bushkie as having TLE. Bush’s escapade in Japan was not choking on food or puking. It was likely a seizure, probably simple partial, but may be a worse type to have. For those of you that want to understand Bush, google TLE, and read about the baggage that one can have with it. Religiosity is just one of them. Don’t make fun of Bush’s verbal skills. Likely having ADD, his brain (what little is left of it after self medication with alcohol, cocaine, and what ever) races ahead of his ability ti spit the right words out. Is Bush a risk taker? Is he stubborn or tenacious? Is he a risk taker? Is a President that may be a “mental case” dangerous? Was JFK jr. crazy or dangerous when standing up to the Soviets during the Cuban crisis?

ADD’ers may think they are failures, as many of them seriously underachieve due to their attention deficits, and poor short term memories. The further they go through the educational hierarchy, the more difficult learning in a school can become. They may actually have to study and crack the books. Many are terribly disorganized (think entropy and the second law of thermodynamics). Recent research has strongly correlated disorganized desks and clutter with smart, innovating, creative thinkers. If you got a chance to see the Daily Show tonight, May 24 – 25th 2007, did you spot a creative thinker? Check out his desk in the current Time magazine. Clutter or what? Three huge monitors. Do you think he can multitask, another ADD trait, as well as excell at higher level cognitive functioning? Rote memory is the lowest form of intelligence. The straight A student can be VERY stupid!

JFK, RFK jr., Ted K, and other relatives and their siblings, many had/have ADD. Natural risk takers if I may be permitted to generalize, people with AD/HD are often brilliant and have higher than normal IQ’s. Some of the brightest students I have taught have been diagnosed hyperactive (AD/HD), and couldn’t sit still and learn in a boring classroom. Brilliant individuals often have very unusual learning styles. Many are in special ed. classes or are home-schooled, like some national spelling bee champs. Some may call these gifted children geeks, or weird, strange, etc. Many children in gifted and talented classes have many of the same traits as ADD’ers.

The Kennedy families are ripe with AD/HD. Some that are still alive like playing football while skiing, and the ski resorts have a problem with that. They love to have famous people at their resorts, but worry about their insurance risk when accidents occur. ADD’ers can be accident prone not only due to their risk taking, but often they may have other (comorbid) “learning disabilities” or deficits especially perceptual ones. Some may just be plain crazy, although JFK senior was crazy like a fox.

JFK jr. publicly stated that he was a bit “energetic”, (hyperactive) on national TV. Check out the famous picture of him under JFK’s desk in the oval office. This “risk taker” died flying when he shouldn’t have been after his leg injury. John-John was charismatic like dad, and had to take his bar exam three times. Was he stupid? Are the stupid of you possibly ADD’ers?

I’ve digressed a bit, but the “stupid” that may that read this blog should learn more about ADD because Rosie has it big time! Also did Henry Ford, Thomas Edison (the Edison gene!), Richard Branson (the Virgin), Bill Gates, Ted Turner, Leonardo da Vinci, etc. etc. etc. Many are putatively or diagnosed ADD’ers. Is Robin Williams an ADD’er? I read that during Mork and Mindy production, he got so hyperactive that they literally had him soak in a tub with ice to calm him down. Creative genius? Did you see his performance on the Actor’s Studio? One of the funniest TV of all time! Improvisation comedians must be creative geniuses. Whoopie Goldberg has the ADD profile, and is multi-talented. Tell me that they are not inventive, creative risk-takers that may be super sized brilliant for the “stupid” of you. Einstein couldn’t do arithmetic very well. Some of his peers coaxed him into taking arithmetic, and some more advanced “lower level” math tests that he failed. Rope-a-dope Muhammad Ali (check him out on Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Did he have brass balls? He was hated more than Jane Fonda, yet he probably is the most admired hero of our time (Remember his “15 minutes of fame” moment at a recent summer Olympic ceremony?) Why did Africans love him so much, but did not respond as such with Sonny Liston? Was Ali charismatic? How about Sanjaya Malakar? Was he an accident at birth, or very cunning and smart? Not the best singer, he might eventually make more $ than some American Idol winners. Was`Blake Lewis charismatic, creative, hyperactive, multitasking gifted or musically gifted or all of these? Rosie may not have his like ability genes, but they share more than a bit together.

Yeah, Rosie the dyke may have larger, denser balls than any brave USMC soldier, or any of you “stupid” (male) people who think they are studs. Say hey, Willie Mays probably was an ADD’er also. Many gifted athlete’s are ADD’ers, as many are gifted with enormous talents, and may not only be “hung”.Athlete’s ARE gifted, and have great perceptual and other gifts. Many, like Mick (the) Mantle can be alcoholics, as many ADD’ers self medicate with alcohol, drugs, sex, etc.

For the naive, misinformed, or unknowledgeable who REALLY want to understand many brilliant types — here’s some “simple” brain chemistry from the Dummies Guide to the Brain … Adrenaline surges trigger neurotransmitters, such as dopamine. ADD’ers can have a deficit of dopamine, a chemical which helps the body bridge synapses (small gaps) between neurons (nerve cells) in the body or brain. Ritalin, and other controlled substances like amphetamines (active ingredient in Adderall which has several salts of amphetamines which dissolve at different rates, hence don’t loose their effect like the older non-time releasing Ritalin or Dexedrin).

The so-called risk or thrill-seeking gene (probably found in most bungee jumpers) may be one of the several gene’s I believe are associated with ADD. These genes surely are a polymorph situation (several genes which may affect an outcome).

Getting back to Rosie, Many ADD’ers are argumentative, controlling, and may be perfectionist in nature. (Barbara Streisand?) Some are “anal”, and you have my permission to make fun of that. Gay people are said to be very creative (generalization) but often quite true. Is promiscuity risk taking when AIDS and hepatitis C are too common? The ADD, bipolar individual I know is also gay and very bright and verbally brilliant. This person is on SSDI (social security disability insurance), has seasonal disorder (not SAD or seasonal affective disorder often called the “winter blues”), and has been diagnosed with another SAD (schizo-affective disorder). No wonder that such an individual can’t hold a job. People don’t understand this, and think that person is lazy, crazy or stupid (a part of a title of a best selling book written by two women ADD’ers).

Howie Mandell and Jay Leno share a lot in common. Parents often think their children are not very smart (Leno), but I wish I had Jay Leno’s IQ! (or $$$!!!) How about Howie? Want his dough? He’s comorbid with AD/HD (VERY hyper.), OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), and probably other disorders. Some of his famous on going jokes (the types of which George Clooney and Mel (the loose cannon) Gibson, (a Rosie type trait?) have been really funny, and caused him to loose a few friends! We know Jay Leno is dyslexic, hence his being labeled as not too smart by parental unit(s). Would the “stupid”, uninformed people that might read this love to have Rosie’s, Howie’s or Robin’s $. Jealous anyone? Many ADD’ers have horrible tempers, and can be prone to raging. They cool down quickly, and don’t hold a grudge too long unless they have other serious “mental” issues.

Tom Cruse is an admitted dyslexic. I’ve read that 60% of dyslexics also have AD/HD. Elvis, Janis Joplin, and other creative “different” individuals most likely had ADD. Some of these people may be accused of having poor people skills, and of course often self-medicate, as depressed individuals often will do this with illegal or legal (prescribed) drugs. Is Tom Cruise a risk taker? Ask Oprah, another ADD’er for sure. Smart, intuitive, creative and poco $. Was John Belushi crazy, brilliant, funny? Did he self medicate? No more than many other ADD’ers probably do with their drug of choice, legal or not.

Many cops, soldiers, and nurses have ADD. These individuals may be very brave (naïve or stupid?), as why risk your life? ADD’ers are often empathetic individuals, and many teachers and nurses are caring, nurturing, and wonderful people that we need more of. Many science teachers, the “absent professors” are ADD’ers (creative minds!).

Getting back to presidents, what % of our past (or PRESENT) president’s are putative ADD’er? How about Clinton? A Rhodes scholar with probably a 185 IQ with better communication skills than Reagan’s (the “great communicator”). Why is Bill Clinton so loved and admired in so many different countries, like Ireland, much of Africa, and many third world countries? What’s with Bill being so popular with blacks? Are democrats more empathetic or caring than republicans? Am I dropping atom bombs here? ADD’ers are not only risk takers, but are visionaries (futurists) who are way ahead of their time. Is Al Gore just a geek? He is presidential material, no?
Rosie uses her hanging boots as a seemingly effective way to treat herself for being bipolar (admitted to this on The View). She’s probably on meds also (a person close to me is a manic-depressive, another term for this mental illness for any idiots who may read this).

This bipolar person just reminded me of his great saying, bearing a lot of truth, that “people are stupid!” You’re right!

I guarantee Rosie is comorbid with AD/HD, and maybe has other real medical disorders (not DISEASES for the lame of you who might read my rant). Who would doubt she is impulsive! Think she is mentally ill? I’ve read some of your comments, and MANY of you have very sick minds!

Bipolar people should not be thought of as being mentally ill. Many (a majority) of people will go through life with at least one Clinical depression. Critics should learn to walk in their fellow man’s shoes. OK, Rosie might be more a man than many of you guys are! ADD’ers, risk takers (entrepreneurs) are not stupid. Many get to be VERY rich!

HAVE COMPASSION people. It might be YOU who are crazy, and not Rosie.

That’s my rant. Be kind with it!

    JR
