Someone buy Chase Bank a clue
Look, man, how you gonna send me — on the same day — some junk mail to open a checking account and a 1099 statement breaking down my annual interest.
To quote the commercial: Are you for real?

The direct-mail databases only seem to be getting worse all the time. My wife and I have different last names, and over time I get mail for “Mr. Peter M.”, “Mr. Peter L.”, and even “Mrs. Peter M.”. We used to get mail for the former owners (let’s call them Joe and Sally Smith), and instead of that going away, they just merged the data, so now we get “Mr. Joe M.”, “Mrs. Sally M.”, and “Mr. Peter Smith”, as well. I’m apparently their son now or something.
What really bugs me is how much mail from credit card companies I’m getting that’s in unmarked, official looking envelopes or says “URGENT!” everywhere but then turns out just to be a new card offer. Why is it that it’s illegal to misrepresent yourself in email, but you can lie through your teeth in direct mail?

Pete: Try opting out.

I love Chase. I’m 19, have no job, and they gladly gave me a credit card with a $2500 limit without me even having to lie on the application (they only ask my “household” (mom’s) income).
And “bless their heart” they often still send me direct mail offering me even more of their cards.
They’re almost asking me to go in to default. God bless America!

I tried to use the Chase credit card zero percent option, but when I didn’t take the credit protection package my next payment suddenly got lost, and I no longer qualify for the zero percent optionl… I know they think they have pulled a fast one on me…. but let’s see who is victorious in the long run.
they will hear from consumer protection…
