Betraying the secrets of 1337 speak
Ohhhhhhhh wow.
The money quote comes from one Niles Jeran, 16 years old:
I can see why parents would be worried, just because… it could lead to… danger.
Here’s a tip to Niles Jeran’s future college classmates: Don’t tell him where you keep the booze. He’ll not only bring by the RA, he’ll call the cops and get the local news involved.
I don’t know how this kid shows his face in public.

What is NIFOC and GYPO?
I can think of “Get Your Parents Out” but that’s just silly.
Ugh, media.

I was surprised that they left out this part of the interview.
Again, I’m very surprised that they didn’t mention that one considering how severe it is.

NIFOC = naked in front of computer
GYPO = get your pants off
I’ve never used these and never heard of them. They sound like emoticon versions of urban legends, of which there are plenty.

Next thing you know these kids will be learning foreign languages just to confound their parents.

Wait, I thought that POS means “piece of shit” and not “parents over shoulder”. :/ Me thinks that Niles got the PG-13 version of the acronym cheat sheet or something.
I have never saw NIFOC or GYPO being used in an actual conversation.
Oh, and they misspelled 1337. :P

There are a number of lists out there which have the most senseless acronyms out there; I think people send in strange ones just to fuck with the websites.

Ok I read most of that but the last letter in the fifth word is confusing and the last word itself has lost me.

I’ve never seen any of those used in real conversation.
And this kid should never go out in public.
I’ll stab him for being a tool.
