Oregon football uniforms
Have you seen the new Oregon football uniforms? Man! Look at those damn shoulder pads? Who designed these things — Spencer’s gifts?
I’m pretty good at wasting your time. By Tom Sherman.

They’re the only team to purposefully tries to look like the toolbox in the back of a pickup truck.
And they’re not even from the Southeast!

20 years from now these uniforms will be considered throwback. Just like Astros uniforms of the 80s. Your blog with this comment better be here twenty years from now, so we can all see how this has come so dreadfully true.

It’s a move into the “Jetsons” age or modern age or maybe the “FFX” age where blitzball overpowers football.

I personally kinda like them, but I’m somewhat biased as I’m an Oregonian. Then again, I am a sworn O of U hater as I attended Oregon State, so who knows. :P

Are you really serious? So in your mind, anything beyond a monotone solid with a couple of numbers on the jersey is tasteless? Honestly, I love the look. I think the illusion of chrome plated shoulders is an incredibly innovative idea (which may date them, I agree). The colors work great together, and they have the option of more combinations than any other team in college or pro sports. I even like the little “Nike” logo, the bold “O” on the helmet, and “Oregon” written down the side of the pants (I don’t think all of the unis have that). But then again, maybe it all boils down to me being a Duck fan. In any case, GO DUCKS!

To answer your rhetorical question: Yes, I am 100% serious.

FUCK THE DUCKS! I hate them and I LIVE in Eugene (well, ok, Springfield if you want to be exact..but don’t tell anybody.)

hm.
1) Springfield is in no way eugene, everyone in oregon knows that. springfield is for hick oregon state fans.
2) I’m not sure about the jersey’s, but either way Nike developed them for U of Oregon (it started out in eugene) so they didn’t have much of a choice in whether to use them or not.

All right so they look a little funny but at least their not the BYU jerseys that made it look like the players were wearing bibs, besides they have practical implications too. those chrome diamonds you hate are placed where the players usually land when falling to prevent wear. Also I read that they are 28% lighter than usual when dry and 34% lighter wet. On the other hand these thins were ranked #1 on ESPN’s 10 worst uniforms.

i for love these uniforms they are the new age of football and what they represent. Their uniforms make it fun to watch football again. It doesn’t matter how old people like the uniforms, what matters is the how young people like the uniforms thats who it appeals to. Solid color are boring so are old people, their the only one who seem to dislike the uniforms.
