Maurice Clarett is worthless, was worthless
The buzz of the moment is former OSU running back Maurice Clarett’s straight-out-of-a-Martin-Lawrence-movie arrest, but I gotta wonder: why do we care about this guy? Sure, the Schadenfreude factor is clear, but hell, this guy was never a factor! The universe of sports fandom care(s)(d) about this guy purely on the word of football scouts. Dude didn’t even do much at Ohio State! The only time I saw the guy in person, he fumbled 3 times against Northwestern. 3 times! Northwestern!
All I’m saying is that if we’re going to celebrate someone’s downfall — and believe me, I’m all for that — let’s find someone who actually has a pedestal to fall from.
By the way… I can’t emphasize enough just how goddamn hilarious the arrest was. Check this out:
A half-full bottle of vodka was found in the SUV, but no breath test was administered because police had no indication that Clarett was intoxicated, Woods said. Police also found a compact disc of children’s songs recorded by Ohio prison inmates that the state distributed last month to prisoners and their families.
And this quote from Clarett’s coach of some no-name football team:
The arrest will not affect Clarett’s status with the team, [doomed-to-football-obscurity Coach Jim] Terry said.
“We gave him a chance and now we’ll wait to see what happens,” he said. “I’ve seen far worse situations than this.”

Maurice has made some real bad choices(most humans have) and will likely have to pay . HE is not wothless and the heading of this web page is a bad choice of words. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone .
