I am sick and tired of listening to the same MP3s. Therefore, I charge you, the reader, with the following task. It will take you under 60 seconds.
Tell me:
- The name of a good band or artist I’ve never heard of
- A good song by them
- Why I would like them, in one sentence.
This is your duty. Go.

Just learned that the term “div” is not just for html. See Urban Dictionary definition. Oh, nerd humor.

I’ve recently noticed two great instructions in my life.
- At the gym, a sign next to the sink reads “Clean up after yourself.” I love it.
- My WageWorks reimbursement statement specifically tells me to “Do nothing” in response to approved charges. Better believe I will follow those directions.

I wanted to play some pickup basketball yesterday, so I got my gear together and walked over to the local high school. No hoop there. Walked around some more. No hoops to be found. Even asked a random woman outside her house, “Where’s the nearest basketball court?” She had no idea.
Why? Because basketball courts in Chicago public schools are an endangered species. Seen (rightly or wrongly) as magnets for fights, crime, and gang activity, many have been left to fall into disrepair. Rims torn off backboards, even sawed deliberately in half by school officials—all in the name of a “safer environment.”

To you Chicagoans (and beyond, actually, since Empire sells in the Midwest): Who has the better jingle, Empire Carpet or Luna Carpet?
If you live in Chicago, you know both. Here’s the Empire jingle: “800 588 2-3-hundred Empiiiire”.
I cannot for the life of me find a recording of the Luna jingle—I looked for about 15 minutes—but it goes “773 202 (touch tones) Luuuna”.
Seems other folks care about Chicago commercial jingles, too.
