I guess that’s just an urban legend.
And upon further reflection, it doesn’t make a lot of sense for her to claim, “I would rather have my children starve than have white people buy my albums.” I mean, if you hate white people so much, wouldn’t you enjoy taking their money?

Wow, is amasing how black people could invent all those things despite the oppression. i did not know the black man made the cell phone and refigrator. Am a proud white man, but i tip my hat to those black men who contributed to mankind, and the ones that still contribute to society. I hope the blacks that visit this page will also appreciate white inventions and encourage folks to contribute to humanity instead of races spreading hate. some white folks can be dumb but we all have a place in this country and a role to play.
