DISH Network tip: Turn off your receiver to let it update channel listings
If you have a DISH Network receiver (I have the DP301, the bottom-of-the-line model that comes free with a new subscription), you might be annoyed by a “Retrieving program information from satellite message” displayed whenever you bring up the guide. After the receiver updates once, it doesn’t need to update again for a while.
You can prevent this message and delay by turning the DISH receiver off at the same time you turn off your TV. I wouldn’t do this normally, but it gives the receiver a chance to download the listings from the satellite and process them. If you always leave the receiver on, even when the television is turned off, then the satellite receiver is tuned to the satellite transponder and is “working” at displaying a video signal, not downloading listings.

We have the dish,so all I need to know is what is playing on tv?I have the channels for the dish network,but I would like to know what is playing on these channels,say weekly,anyway.Could I see what is playing on tv?

cannot turn t.v. off with dish network t.v. electricity went off and have not been able to turn t.v. off since Joan Ratliff 116 Highland Ave Atmore Al 36502

I have a dish and sometimes I lose signals. When I try to put the receiver on a channel it says NO SIGNAL. I dont know what to do , someone told me that it requires programing, or somekind of a code. IF ANYONE CAN HELPME IT WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

i have dish network connection and some times i loose signal and receiver says it is updating and then picture goes and does not come back. is there anyone who can help me on that.
some of my friend was telling change the keys, however i have a automatic update receiver, it was working good but since last ten days it is off.

When I change the channel it says looking for a signal …also when I try to see what is on other channel it has to download before I see what is on.. Can someone tell me what to do for this…
