Today’s fashion is horrible!
While walking through the Nordstrom mall on Michigan Ave. on the way home this afternoon, I realized a simple fact: Today’s fashion is horrible. God awful. As bad as fashion’s been in years and years and years.
In fact, I’m willing to say that “what’s fashionable” is the worst it’s been in 30 years. You’ve got to go back to the dark days of Travolta polyester leisure suits to get something comparable. The ’80s were better than today’s shit, because then we were dealing with the original incarnations of today’s bad clothes. The early ’90s was pretty bad too, but more nave; today, we know better, dammit. And there in the late ’90s, I thought we’d learned our lesson. Well, we haven’t.
What are these skirts? These strange tennis-esque skirts that make girls look fat and trashy? These weird jean skirts decorated with cheap, frilly lace-crap? How did these become popular? Are these girls collectively playing dress-up?! And these pathetic, cheap heels? And these too-long shirts? What is this? What is the meaning of this?
It’s not all bad news, however. I can formally announce that Ugg Boots have died. They can be shipped back to Siberia where they belong.

You need to be a little open minded about what people like. Sure, some of it is trashy, and some of it is hippy like, but that’s fashion yol! Look at the past decades. Just because we were crazy then, doesn’t mean we are perfect now. So give fashion a break, cuz wuts in now, will be out soon. Heck, then it will come back again! Who would of known that fashion could relate to a boomerang! lol/peace out:)

Personally I would like to see what you wear that makes you so perfect.

Clothes today are absolutley hideous.Todays Jeans Are My Biggest Problem. No one should have to shave off their pubic hair just to wear some pants. And I Dont Know if yall relize, but no one wants to see your butt crack shine. ALso With The pants being so low it makes your legs look short. The fat of your belly and hips hang over the jeans, and because there so low it makes your asses look flat and wide. Why in the world do people do this to themselves. I Dont wear that ugly shit anymore. I Get VIntage 70s jeans. And My Body Looks wonderful in them. Not that Im trying to brag, Im trying to all of you to do the same.. Thats all I have to say..

I agree that fashion today is awful. The people who are posting who don’t like the fashion aren’t compaining about it. They just feel bad for the people who think the fashion now makes them look good. Also, if you’re fat and you wear clothes that are too small you are’nt making yourself look skinny. You are making your fat more noticeable. If you get clothes that actually fit you might look good. I’m not saying they have to be baggy just not squeezing you.

Hey I’m 16 and I don’t like most of the crap they make us to wear. EW!!! I’m not fat but I’m not skinny either. They either make everything too low or too high! It’s horrible! I must say there are a few good things- in the guys section!!! That’s right girlies… I sometimes wear dood clothes!!! Jesus loves ya!!!

Yes fashion today is horrible, it’s mostly for skinny people and even though I may be really skinny I”M NOT WEARING IT!!! it’s not my style and I don’t think anybody looks comfortable wearing i.t I’m not judging it’s just that I’m more comfortable picking out styles that I like instead of fashion magazines telling me what to wear.

well i don’t know what’s wrong with y’all. Fashion today is al about embracing who you really are. They still sell the vintage jeans, the BELTS if your PANTS FALL DOWN, and lots of the stuff isn’t that bad. Just because it looked bad then, doesn’t mean it does now. It was just bad presentation. the way i see it, if you don’t want to wear whats in style, DON’T!!! they still sell the toerh clothing/ I highly doubt that when you walk into a store, you only see one type of clothing. but those shirts that go down to your knees are realy disgusting. >.

true true! i never liked the long tees that go all the way down to my knees. but yet i see that your talking about what the “black” kids and people are wearing. so i’m kinda taking that as a racial statment. so if you can add something about what white people are wearing that would be more equal. but i was just saying that this style is pretty bad but its what they like and i don’t judge.
you should talk more about the white style next time. (i’m white by the way) but i just think your a little racial. also if you saw white boys/girls wearing this stuff then there crazy. they are trying to be gangster and they shouldn’t be.
but trure that style is really bad.

All the old stuff I wore as a child is coming back. Kinda scary and makes you feel old, but it looks great most of the time.

With the 70s and 80s back in style, I just loving vintage clothing from the thrift shops. You can find designers like Chanel and Armani for cheap there. Ebay is great too!

Retro clothing is the bomb! My favorite place to find it is Goodwill or any thrift store. Ebay is also a great place to find what you are looking for.

Not only do I agree with most of you….but I’ll add this: Ok, we get the whole “Everybody is pregnant in hollywood and isn’t that just PEACHY…for them”….BUT why, oh God why, Does this OK-mag trivia tripe have to filter its way down to my favorite stores and these god-awful tops/dresses that simply won’t die! Why, why why??? I mean I’m so tired of the long tops and dresses that make VIRTUALLY EVERYONE look pregnant. Good for hollywood Moms, bad for 20-somethings who just want to look up-to-date this fall. Please tell the fashion powers-that-be that this just sucks for those of us sans-boyfriends, say nothing of those of us not pregnant! I’m sick of trying on clothes with Gucci-price-tags and Mommy-and-Me shapes!!! HELP!!!

I have noticed classic garments always stay in style. Fashion brings out whatever emotion you are feeling inside. Whatever you are feeling, have fun with it and remember not to take yourself so serious. Don’t let someone predict who you are!
