Get rid of Winamp. Get this program. It’s called Quintessential Player, and it blows everything else out of the water. Fast, intuitive, configurable, good looking, and easy on the system resources. Get me a woman like that, please.

Every morning and every evening, I walk through Nordstrom on my way to work. Every day, I scrutinize the make-up girls. In my usual knee-jerk opinion, I think they’re some of the more pathetic people I’ve laid eyes on. Not pathetic in the colloquial sense (i.e. laughable or just plain crappy), but pathetic in the classic sense: “Arousing or capable of arousing scornful pity.” This is just about as good as it gets for them; there are few places to ascend in the retail make-up market when you’re already at Nordstrom. So hot damn, these girls (and gay guys) take themselves seriously. They man those make-up posts like Checkpoint Charlie. But check it out: you’re selling make-up. That arouses my pity.
