Dial Q for Quality of Life

I know this isn't really pertinent, but it's funny nonetheless. [dribbleglass.com]Whew! In the immortal words of Jim Anchower, “it’s been a long time since I rapped at ya.” 10 days, in fact, and things have changed a lot in that time—for the better, I’ll venture.

I moved out of my old place at Sherman and Noyes and into my new place on Main St. It’s a good change. Feels great, actually. I normally hate moving (see evidence here, here, and here), but this time, I almost perversely enjoyed it. Getting rid of all that’s superfluous, organizing everything that’s not, and figuring out what else you need—there’s something satisfying in the entire process. I honestly love the feeling of being in a clean, organized apartment. I haven’t had that for a long, long time. It’s like the weight of messiness and disorder has been lifted from my shoulders.

And the apartment… well, I’m very happy with it. I’m getting a helluva deal, free cable (shhh…), and it’s 1.5 blocks from the “L” and the Metra. The area is.. er.. interesting, what with all of the crazy (but harmless) people from Albany Care wandering around. I actually like it, perhaps even better than my old place. It’s more lively. And the people in the building are quite friendly.

So I could write lots more, and I’ve had lots on my mind in the last week and a half, but I think I’ll leave it at that for now. I’ve moved, and things feel good. Things are changing. I’m changing. It’s all a little different, but in a good way. Over and out.
