On the horizon

Just finished watching The Godfather, Part III. I watched the entire series in the last couple of days. Yeah, amazingly, I hadn’t seen it until now. And yes, I’m firmly on the “III sucks” bandwagon. It just seemed shabby in compared to the first two. All in all, I think I preferred the original, if only because Marlon Brando made a better don.

My future. Riiight. I have to figure it out, you see. And there’s a very important date coming up: August 31. The following three things happen on August 31:

  • My Northwestern insurance runs out.
  • My lease in Evanston is up.
  • My parents stop sending checks.

And then presumably, I become an adult! Or that’s the way it’s scripted, anyway. Right now, though, I need to figure out the job and apartment situation. It’s starting to creep up on me, weighing me down with worry. But I’m pretty clear on one thing: I want to spend some solid time in Bryn Athyn this summer. It just seems like the right thing to do, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my 21 years, it’s to follow your instincts.
