Baseball!
One of the perks of working for the Tribune is the free Cubs tickets. The Trib owns the Cubs, after all. So today, I went down to Wrigley with some TMS coworkers and sat in the 7th row on the first base side. Aw yeah baby, best seats I’ve ever had. And what a game! Among the highlights:
- Back-to-back home runs by Corey Paterson and Sammy Sosa
- A second, 520 ft. home run (!) by Sosa
- Back-to-back-to-back home runs by Kerry Wood, Mark Grudzielanek and Alex Gonzalez. That’s the 9-1-2 combo!
- A double-rundown double play. Score it 1-6-5-3-4-3.
- A power outage, which delayed the first inning by 16 minutes.
- The Brewers catcher and manager getting tossed.
And if all that drama weren’t enough, I got to witness the guy in front of me on the L unload an entire belly full of beer and food onto the aisle. Fantastic!
