busy day. got a little bit of reading done in the morning, then went to Chapin to watch the Bears-Eagles game. the whole thing was frustrating. the Bears didn’t throw downfield enough, and Urlacher seemed to be the only one awake on defense. but the loss didn’t bother me too much, surprisingly enough.

i then went to the NU-Iowa game with John E., which, amazingly enough, NU dominated from start to finish and ended up winning by 13. it was a thoroughly entertaining game — much more so than a usual Northwestern game — and i got plenty of opportunities to check out my favorite Ladycat (”Miss Perky”) from my vantage point. John and Myles know what i’m talking about. ;-)

then it was off to Black Hawk Down with Mike A. and Mark. i actually didn’t like it too much, because frankly, it was depressing. it felt like the battle scene from a “normal” war movie, but extended to 2.5 hours’ time. it was bloody, frustrating, and very realistic. i left it feeling somehow empty.

and following that, Mike, Mark, and i ran to BK, then to my apartment for German wine and St. Pauli’s Girl. i talked to Mark for a while about stuff… you know, girls, life at NU, personal stuff at you. Mark is a trustworthy person. i respect him.

i hope to write something a little larger-in-scope here soon.
