A-permit! yes! i successfully appeased the evil Evanston bureaucracy and acquired a coveted A-permit, allowing me to park without worrying (!) in Evanston.

i went to hear James Carville speak tonight (sponsored by the NU College Dems [ahem]). blah. he was fairly entertaining, but mostly just spewed tired Democrat cliches. Republicans=evil, Democrats=good. yeah Jimmy, great depth of thinking. thoroughly impressive.

shit man, i gotta get my academic act together. through a variety of circumstances, i missed three consecutive History of Philosophy classes, plus the weekly TA section! ouch! good thing it’s a blow-off class. i’ve also totally neglected my reading in that class. luckily, i’m ok in my 2 anthro courses. (and then there’s the blow-off of all blow-offs, tools and tech of the www, but that hardly deserves a mention)

i’m thinking of doing my anthro senior thesis (with help from College Scholars) on the Men’s Movement. i think it could be a really great project, and perhaps even contribute to the “literature” (although this would be almost incidental — i don’t care about “helping” academia).

a-ha! i have finished assembling the $99 futon! it actually wasn’t that bad. under 2 hours, anyway, and considering the futon (matress + frame) goes for about half of what the next-cheapest futon i could find does, i think i should be pretty happy. now will it survive until june?
