also posted on my geocities webspace…

well, the first week of classes is over. all in all, i’d say i’ve had a good start to this school year. and more importantly, in comparison to the last two years’ starts, this year has been stellar. i’ve been making a concerted effort to not be a total jerk, and although i’ve had my share of lapses, i’ve been doing ok. and in turned, i’ve reaped the reward of having people be friendly back to me.

i changed my classes a bit from my initial setup. i stuck with two anthro courses (law & culture and culture & society) and a level 3 distro (history of philosophy), but i dropped my 300-level german class before the first day of classes, and then subsequently dropped cs111 for cs130. cs130 should be pretty easy and fun, and thing is, it might actually even be practical, since i’ll learn some web technology crap.

i’ve been hanging out in chapin, because living alone can get, well, boring. i wouldn’t say “lonely,” but boring. i think the crop of freshmen is pretty decent, especially given the past few classes. yeah, not bad.

my first day in earnest at the new job was today, and it wasn’t half bad. basically, i do what i do anyway on the internet: tinker, write e-mails, search for stuff. ya know.

ok … another update sometime soon…
