well, today was a work day. after being exhausted these last couple of days, i had the distinct pleasure of waking up at 6:30am, packing a few things into my mom’s car, and riding in the jeep (pulling the trailer) up to evanston. we got there around 10 and hauled all the crap up the back stairs to the 4th floor. it was a hassle, but nothing was too heavy. also, the big empty parking lot next door certainly expedited the process.
looking at my apartment for the second time, i’m really happy with it. the location is great — only about four blocks from campus. it’s big, well-lit (four windows), clean, and everything works. the porcelain tub is a nice touch, and as an added bonus, the cable is still on! that, however, may prove to be short-lived.
also, i went to that damn hag of a landlord at 1410 Chicago Ave. and got my $35 back [see 2001 08 24 jotsheet entry]. my dad was supposed to be my wingman on this one, but he wasn’t much help. in fact, i think he was pretty much a pansy, and i had to do all the talking to the witch. she made some asinine comment as i left about me “learning some manners.” what a goddamn hypocrite. takes my money, lies about it, and then tells ME to learn some manners. the gall.
yeah, so then i rode back, ate at subway, got home, and wasted the rest of the day on the Internet. sound familiar?
